Misericordia University medical imaging majors selected for PSRT Student Intern Program

DALLAS TWP., Pa. – The Pennsylvania Society of Radiologic Technologists (PSRT) Student Intern Committee chose Kaylyn Kleinschmidt of Waterbury, Connecticut, and Maria Mejia Cortes of West Hazleton, medical imaging majors at Misericordia University, to serve as a student interns with the state organization during the 2018-19 school year.

Kleinschmidt and Cortes worked with PSRT board members during March’s annual board meeting in Pittsburgh and gained firsthand knowledge about running a professional society, and the duties and responsibilities of state officers, according to the 2018-19 Student Intern Committee. In addition, the Misericordia students also will remain in contact with board members so they can remain engaged and active in PSRT activities.

The daughter of Steven and Karen Kleinschmidt also has been selected to shadow Sharon Miller, M.S., R.T. (R)(M)(CT)(MR), the vice president of the PSRT Board. Cortes, the daughter of Joel and Maria Cortes, will shadow Martin Pesce, B.S., R.T.(R), chairperson of the PSRT Board.

The Misericordia University medical imaging majors’ term as PSRT student interns began at the start of the 2018 board meeting on March 23 and ends with the start of next year’s state meeting.
